‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas — musicians need rest!
Concerts and programs are done. We gave all our best.
Our hearts have been blessed, the true meaning was stressed,
Now for our family time, eating to excess!

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and the moon was shining bright,
I stumbled out to the barn, a little before midnight,
To see if ol’ Bessie and Dew Drop were doing alright
As I turned on the lights and looked into the pens
I was greeted with not one, but two sets of twins!

“‘Twas then night before Christmas, I was gazing at our tree,
When suddenly I noticed there were eyes looking at me;
I sprang from my chair, screaming my alarm, I had to save our tree from impending harm;
The raccoon family was all snug in their nest, until I turned the lights on and ruined their rest.

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house it was quiet,
As I looked off into the distance to find the barn glowing with warmth.
I scampered into my boots, threw on my coat, and out the door I went into the snow.
I entered the barn to find all the animals partying. The chickens were swinging from garland, horses were tap dancing, goats were eating the decorations.
Not to mention the cows were singing karaoke and the sheep were mingling.
‘Twas a barnyard Christmas Eve, and they danced into Christmas.

‘Twas the night before Christmas, all the shopping is done,
the presents are wrapped and the stockings are hung;
The food is all bought and the cookies are frosted.
This was so fun, don’t ask what it costed.
