    Reader’s Recipe: D. Flinner of Canton, OH

    Ingredients:

    • 2 cups packed brown sugar
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 3 cups pumpkin
    • 1 cup vegetable oil
    • 4 eggs
    • 4 cups flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/2 cup water

    Directions:

    1. Cream sugars and oil.
    2. Sift dry ingredients together.
    3. Add pumpkin to creamed mixture.
    4. Gradually add flour mixture and water alternately.
    5. Bake in 3 greased loaf pans, 9″x5″x3″ at 350 drgrees, 60-75 minutes or until top cracks open.

    Makes 3 loaves.
