Grandma Stingel’s Date Pudding

    Ingredients:

    • 2 cups dates, cut fine
    • 2 cups boiling water
    • 2 tsp. soda
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 2 tbsp. butter
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 cup nuts
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 3 cups flour

    Directions:

    1. Pour boiling water over dates and let stand to cool.
    2. Mix with dates the rest of the ingredients.
    3. Place in a greased 9×13 cake pan and bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes.
    4. When cool, cut into bite-sized pieces.
    5. Mix with 2 packages Dream Whip or whipped cream. Makes a large amount.
