    Ingredients

    • 2 s flour
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
    • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1 sugar
    • 1/2 oil
    • 1/4 dark molasses
    • 1 egg

    Directions

    Mix dry ingredients and set aside. Mix sugar, oil, molasses and egg until well blended. Stir in dry ingredients. Divide dough in thirds. Make into 3 logs 3 inches wide and the length of cookie sheet. Pat flat and sprinkle with 3 teaspoons sugar. Bake at 375° 6 to 7 minutes. Remove from oven and score into 1-inch pieces. Break apart when cool.
