Lemon Jello Salad

    Ingredients

    • 2 (3 oz.) pkgs. lemon gelatin
    • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice
    • Add to gelatin:
    • 2 cups hot water
    • 2 cups ginger ale or lemon-lime carbonated beverage
    • Let stand until partially set and then add:
    • 2 large bananas, sliced
    • 1 cup chopped nuts
    • Put in 8×14 pan. Let set.
    • Topping:
    • 1/2 sugar
    • 1 tablespoon flour
    • 1 cup pineapple juice
    • Cook until thick; Add:
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • Cook until thick; cool. Add:
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 1/2 pint whipped topping

    Directions

    Spread topping over gelatin.
