Hamilton Deep Dish Apple Pie

    Ingredients:

    • 6 large apples or 1 can of apple pie filling
    • 2/3 cup sugar
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

    Ingredients for Topping:

    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 stick margarine softened
    • 1/2 c nuts (optional)

    Directions:

    1. If using fresh apples, peel and slice them and place in the bottom of deep buttered pan. Sprinkle with 2/3 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Mix well, to coat apples. If using apple pie filling, place in a deep buttered pan.
    2. Mix Topping ingredients together in a seperate bowl.
    3. Sprinkle over apples and bake 45 mins to 1 hour at 350.
