Fried Green Tomatoes

    Ingredients:

    • 4 firm green tomatoes
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 t. salt
    • 1/4 t. pepper
    • 1/3 cup butter

    Directions:

    1. Wash tomatoes, pat dry.
    2. Remove stem and core.
    3. Slice tomatoes 3/4″ thick.
    4. Mix flour, salt and pepper.
    5. Dip tomato slices in flour mixture.
    6. Heat butter in a 10″ skillet until melted.
    7. Add tomato slices; cook turning only once until golden brown.
